KNIGHTS OF PENDRAGON READING ORDER: Defenders of Avalon (1990-2014)

The recent announcement that Marvel will release a Knights of Pendragon Omnibus collection in early 2022 has left some fans asking... who the hell are the Knights of Pendragon?!

The Knights came into being when Marvel UK started creating more stories set in mainstream Marvel Universe continuity (normally referred to as Earth-616) and was relaunched as part of the company's big push to enter the growing comics market in the early '90s, alongside Death's Head II, Warheads, Hell's Angel and others. The series features characters who channel the spirits of the original Knights of the Round Table and include one long-standing character, Union Jack, who received a new look and new powers for the series.

I've previously covered Marvel UK's '90s titles in the MARVEL UK READING ORDER: OVERKILL (1990-1995), but the reading order below will purely focus on the Knights of Pendragon. As there aren't that many stories featuring the Knights, I haven't marked the stories to read and the ones to consider avoiding, but you can find my take on that on the MARVEL UK READING ORDER page.

MCG Notes:
  • Issue listings: I'm not a huge fan of these characters so, unlike other reading order entries, I've just listed every Knights of Pendragon appearance with equal importance.
  • Chronology: Every appearance of the Knights of Pendragon from this period is included in chronological order, mapping out their timeline rather than just the order the issues were released.
  • Spoilers: The issue/story overviews may include spoilers, so be warned!
