FAMILY TIES (1985)

The West Coast Avengers are officially up and running with (a now-sober) Tony Stark taking James Rhodes' place as Iron Man on the team. Still looking for a sixth member, Hawkeye tries to recruit disgraced Avenger Hank Pym who's less than keen on joining.

Meanwhile, the Scarlet Witch and the Vision are looking forward to living whatever passes for a 'normal' life for a mutant hex-caster and a synthezoid...
Crossover: This is a standard four-part crossover.
  • West Coast Avengers #1
  • Vision and the Scarlet Witch #1
  • West Coast Avengers #2
  • Vision and the Scarlet Witch #2
West Coast Avengers #1
The californian branch of the Avengers investigate a docked shipped and are attacked by Ultron-12 who is diverting the team away from their compound. Man-Ape frees the captive Goliath and takes Hank Pym and Wonder Man prisoner. Hawkeye realies they're up against a whole team of super-villains and deduces that the mastermind behind this new Lethal Legion is none-other than Wonder Man's brother, the Grim Reaper.

Vision and the Scarlet Witch #1
The Vision is revived following his recent deactivation but is still held by the US Government. The Scarlet Witch forcefully frees the Vision and announces the couple have quit the Avengers. They buy a house in an attempt to begin a normal life, but are attacked by zombies who defeat the Vision and take the Witch back to their masters, the Black Talon, Nekra and the Grim Reaper. Vision helps the Scarlet Witch escape her captors and contacts the West Coast Avengers for assistance...
