Cap unmasks Zemo as Franz Gruber - Zemo's former-pilot, who planned to continue using Zemo's name and resources to rule the planet. Angered by Gruber's ruse, his minions shoot him dead. Nick Fury has the death-ray satellite destroyed and Cap offers the Panther his place among the Avengers.

The Black Panther gets through the security system at Avengers Mansion only to find the team dead at his feet and himself under arrest for their murder. The Panther escapes the police station and returns to the mansion where he confronts the Avengers' killer, the Grim Reaper (aka Eric Williams, brother of Simon Williams, the deceased Avenger Wonder Man). The Reaper blames the Avengers responsible for Wonder Man's death, Baron Heinrich Zemo being to blame. The Panther defeats the Reaper by accidentally making him fall on his own scythe. The freed Avengers officially swear the Black Panther in as he gives up his thrown to serve the whole world as an Avenger! Now the team need to find out if the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are still their friends...
