THE HOOD READING ORDER: Parker Robins (2002-2022)

Marvel's 'mature readers' line MAX Comics began in 2001 and, despite many of the titles under than banner taking place outside of regular Earth-616 continuity, has introduced a handful of new characters to the mainstream Marvel Universe. One of which is Parker Robbins - a petty criminal who stumbles across a mystical cloak and boots of unknown origin that gave him the power to step up a level and become a super-criminal as The Hood. Brian K Vaughan & Kyle Hotz created him to be the antithesis of Peter Parker.

The character could have faded into obscurity after his six-issue mini-series, but was instead added to the cast of 'Beyond!' - a tribute to the original SECRET WARS - and was then chosen by Brian Michael Bendis to become the main protagonist for the post-CIVIL WAR Avengers. From then on, the Hood formed an army of super-villains, learned the true nature of his powers and gone on to seek other ways to make himself a major player...
