TIME BOMB (1995)

The infamous Clone Saga continues as Peter Parker's role as Spider-Man is called into question as the recent revelation that he's the clone and Ben Reilly is the real Peter pushes him closer and closer to the edge. Spidey's dark clone Kaine has long predicted the murder of Mary Jane Parker. But Peter begins to experiences visions of his own and begins to wonder if his wife's killer might be end up being himself...

Spectacular Spider-Man #228
Peter Parker wakes from a dream in which Kaine accuses him of being Mary Jane's Parker's killer. Seeing the Jackal's face everywhere, Peter is soon driven mad by a post-hypnotic suggestion planted by the Jackal that makes him try to kill MJ. She calls on the New Warriors for help and heads to the subway, pursued by her enraged husband. The Warriors arrive just as Spider-Man catches up with his wife...

Web of Spider-Man #129
Spider-Man begs the Warriors to stop him before the Jackal's programming forces him to kill Mary Jane. The Scarlet Spider joins the fight, giving MJ a chance to flee Spidey shakes of the New Warriors and Scarlet Spider and returns to the Parker home where the pregnant MJ gives up and relies on Peter to break his programming, surrounded by images of those he's loved. The Scarlet Spider sees the couple reconcile and wonders how he's going to explain away Spider-Man's behaviour to the New Warriors...
New Warriors #63 (1995)
The Scarlet Spider remains a member of the New Warriors.

Spectacular Spider-Man #229 (1995) 
Peter Parker quits being Spider-Man; Peter & Mary Jane Parker leave New York to start a new life together during THE GREATEST RESPONSIBILITY.

Sensational Spider-Man #0 (1996)
Ben Reilly becomes Spider-Man during THE RETURN OF SPIDER-MAN.

Web of Scarlet Spider #4 (1995) 
Ben Reilly uses the second Scarlet Spider's rampage to explain away Spider-Man's attack on Mary Jane as well as he 'disappearance' of the real Scarlet Spider during NIGHTMARE IN SCARLET.

Peter Parker: Spider-Man #75 (1996)
Ben Reilly is revealed to be the clone when he dies; Peter Parker returns as Spider-Man; Norman Osborn reveals to Peter that he was the one manipulating his life for all this time; Peter comforts his wife after the loss of their baby during REVELATIONS.
