A giant Galactus skull crashes to Earth. The Fantastic Four confirm that the skull comes from another reality, which is confirmed when Nova from Earth-1462 arrives, followed by the superhuman Law Enforcement Squad from her reality. Mister Fantastic (Reed Richards) and the Squad's version of Doctor Druid travels to the heart of Eternity where they learn a being called Abraxas has been travelling the Multiverse, accessing realities with no Galactus to stop him. Abraxas immediately casts Reed and Druid out and returns the Law Enforcement Squad from reality, leaving Nova and the giant Galactus skull in the middle of New York. Across the universe, at Haven, Franklin Richards wakes up from a dream in which Abraxas burns Valeria von Doom (Marvel Girl of Earth-99315 who's been living with the FF on Earth-616) to a crisp. Valeria decides it's time for them to go home...
Reed and the Invisible Woman (Sue Richards) are reunited with Franklin and Marvel Girl. Nova explains that Abraxas is killing alternate reality duplicates residing in universes they don't originate from, making her and Marvel Girl targets. The FF fight Abraxas' minions on the moon who are searching for the Ultimate Nullifier. The FF hope to claim it first and use it to destroy Abraxas with it, but the Nullifier has been hidden and the knowledge of its whereabouts are contained in the memories of the alternate universe versions of the Human Torch (Johnny Storm). Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) discerns which ones to send the consciousnesses of Reed, Sue and the Thing (Ben Grimm) to track down the Nullifier...
