SQUADRON SUPREME READING ORDER: Supreme Justice (1971-2011)

If you want to see what'd happen if the Avengers ever fought the Justice League, but can't get past the legal wrangling... just invent your own Justice League!

The Squadron Supreme are Marvel's very own pastiche of DC's premiere super-team. Earth's Mightiest Heroes initially clashed with the Grandmaster's Squadron Sinister - evil counterparts of Superman, Batman and the Green Lantern) in the ENDGAME storyline, but writer Roy Thomas reintroduced the concept as the Squadron Supreme - a team of heroes from Earth-712 with a much larger line-up of heroes, all styled after the JLA.

Over the years, the Squadron Supreme have constantly fallen foul of mind-control themed villains and been set against against the Avengers or teamed-up with them and other heroes. Hyperion (the team's own Superman) has even faced another of Marvel's Superman-inspired characters, the Gladiator, in battle!

Below is a list of every appearance of the Squadron Supreme of Earth-712 in chronological order, along with a couple of Hyperion's key counterparts in including the original Hyperion (Zhib-Rann, the Grandmaster's creation) and the murderous King Hyperion. I'll follow this up at some point with specific reading orders for the Squadron Supreme of Earth-31916 (the 'Supreme Power' universe) and the Hyperion of Earth-13034 who became a member of the Avengers of Earth-616 (the mainstream Marvel Universe) himself.

Strap in and prepare for lots and lots of numbered multiverse references, everyone!
