ABOMINATION READING ORDER: Emil Blonsky (1967-2014)

The Abomination is one of my absolute favourite Marvel villains, so I've decided to give him a little time in the spotlight. Having an evil version of the hero is a pretty standard comic trope these days, but I'm fairly sure the Abomination was one of the earlier iterations of that as far as the Marvel Universe goes.

Emil Blonsky started out as a Russian spy who got himself gamma'd up and ended up as a freakier, far stronger Hulk. But his journey has also taken him into space, gotten him disintegrated, he's shared his body with another villain, had half his face melted off, become a hero to the homeless and committed one of the worst acts against the Hulk in the character's history.

Forget what you say in the Incredible Hulk film, this is the Abomination...

MCG Note:
  • Issues in blue and black are worth reading, are major chapters in Emil Blonsky's history or may play a key part in the great Marvel tapestry.
  • Issues in grey are part of Blonsky's chronology, stories of note that aren't essential or are no longer considered 'required reading'.
