But now it's back! And about to make its way into the Ultraverse (Earth-93060) because Marvel bought Malibu Comics and need them to seem interesting to Marvel fans, somehow...
Watch as they drag the seven relaunched Ultraverse titles kicking and screaming into Marvel continuity. Not sure who the Ultraverse characters are? Don't worry. Each chapter of the 'Red Shift' prequels (appearing as three flipbook pages in the back of the seven Ultraverse titles) vaguely introduces each character and hints that they just might become the newest host of the Phoenix Force. But who will it actually be?
MCG Note: This event is not to be confused with the 2017 'Phoenix Resurrection' event.

On Earth-93060 (aka the Ultraverse), Prime is the Earth's most powerful hero. The Prime bodies are husks created by a kid called Kevin Green, growing around his body and giving him the superhuman powers of Prime. Right now, the ego-driven Prime is showing off to his adoring fans when he's transported to Earth-616 (the mainstream Marvel Universe) by the teleporting mutant called Gateway. Before he can get any answers from Gateway, he's transported back to the Ultraverse where he sees a Phoenix Force totem on the ground.
Night Man #2[2/2]
Sax player Johnny Domino's contact with the Ultra-Effect transformed him into the telepathic Night Man, enabling him to hear evil thoughts. He recently upgraded by learning Celtic magick. One night, Johnny Domino accidentally spies on Daimon Hellstrom's bedroom antics through a puddle in the pavement. Hellstorm throws his trident through the portal and it turns into a Phoenix - warning him that annihilation looms...
Siren #2[2/2]
The Squadron Supreme of Earth-712 are based at Project PEGASUS while they're stranded on Earth-616. Whizzer pinpoints the recent dimensional breaches between Earth-616 and the Ultraverse and wonders what it could all mean. When he's unable to contact the Fantastic Four, Whizzer calls up the Beast (Hank McCoy) to warn him about all the holes being made between universes. Beast underestimates the threat and tells Whizzer to give it some time to resolve itself...
Siren #2[2/2]
Lauren Sherwood is a nerdy college outsider who can transform herself into the super-sexualised sorceress, Mantra. Gateway appears to her in a diner while she's being ridiculed by her peers. When he teleports away, Gateway leaves Lauren a bird-like sigil on the table in front of her. Could this be a warning of terrible things to come?

Amber Hunt accidentally killed a number of people thanks to the manipulations of the Entity from the Moon when her powers manifested. Now she's a member of a group of outsider's called the Exiles. This time, she won't be manipulated by another power against her will...

Rune #2[2/2]
Erik Johnson and Noel Robinson of the Ultraverse have been merged to become Gemini; a creature that looks and acts very much like the vampire Rune. After lunching on a serial killer, Gemini is briefly transported to the grounds of the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning over on Earth-616. Gemini and Wolverine smell each other from a distance before Gemini is transported back to the Ultraverse.
UltraForce #2[2/2]
UltraForce are the primary superhuman team of the Ultraverse. All the heavy hitters from Earth-93060 are members, along with their most recent addition: the Black Knight (Dane Whitman) of Earth-616, stranded in the Ultraverse (since COUNTDOWN TO BLACK SEPTEMBER). Ultraforce are just about to apprehend the cyborg super-criminal Meat Rack when he's inexplicably transported to the Marvel Universe. He's flung past Spider-Man and Thor before arriving back in the Ultraverse, covered in copies of the Daily Bugle. Black Knight realises where he's been and the team finally decide it's time to investigate those breaches...
The Phoenix Resurrection: Genesis #1
Gateway transports a team of X-Men to Earth-93060 to help save their version of Earth from the Phoenix Force. The Entity from the Moon (awakened during BLACK SEPTEMBER) is hoping to claim its power for itself, opening a portal to Earth-616 and sucking the Phoenix Force into the Ultraverse. The Phoenix Force breaks away from the vampiric Entity and desperately seeks out a new host. First of all it claims Prime when it senses the power in his husk body while he's busy attacking the X-Men.
UltraForce arrive and Black Knight puts an end to further fighting. Both teams beat the Phoenix Force out of Prime's body, but it now needs another host. Ultraforce are willing to go a step further than the X-Men and kill the host to end the threat. But who will the Phoenix choose next? Will it be the human/alien hybrid Rose Autumn? Or will Amber Hunt destroy the Phoenix before it finds a host?
The Phoenix Resurrection: Revelations #1
Amber Hunt becomes the new host for the Phoenix Force and the Solution, Quattro, Night Man and Mantra arrive to help shut her down fast. When the Exiles arrive, the X-Men realise Juggernaut, Reaper and Siena Blaze are also trapped in the Ultraverse. Amber Hunt realises the Entity is draining the Phoenix and sends her consciousness into the lion's den to try and stop it. New York takes the brunt of the battle and Rose Autumn's apartment collapses on her dad. She uses ultra powers she didn't know she had to free him, only he turns out to be a robot. Transforming herself into a shimmering gold form, Rose attacks Amber and expels the Phoenix Force from her.

The Phoenix splits and enters Rex Mundi and the Alternate, who are kidnapped by the Entity as it tries to extract the power of the Phoenix Force from them. The army of super-humans go underground to fight their way through robots to get to the Entity. Wolverine kills Rex Mundi and the Alternate and the Phoenix Force is freed. The heroes combine their powers to send the Phoenix Force through a portal to (what I may have mistakenly interpreted as) the dawn of the Ultraverse. Gateway transports the X-Men back to Earth-616.
Phoenix Resurrection #0[8/8]
At the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters, Generation X member Jubilee wonders if her recent trip to the Ultraverse is just the start of something bigger. She finds an orange rock that possibly came back with her from the Ultraverse. But what is it? Gateway knows, but he's not telling.

Phoenix Resurrection: Aftermath #1
Rose Autumn wakes up in the future (Earth-95431) where the last remaining humans are under constant threat from the alien Progeny. Rose learns she's invulnerable to the Progeny's attacks. The future version of Tom Hawke (formerly Hardcase) explains that she was bred in this timeline with Progeny DNA and Ultra abilities to be able to fight the Progeny. She was sent back in time to get close to the Phoenix which would unlock her full power potential. She's angry until she finds herself protecting the humans from another Progeny attack. She makes up with her dad, learns there's a traitor (the future Entity, aka Amber Rose), takes the codename Foxfire and joins the last remaining Ultras to defeat the Progeny.
