WHOMSOEVER FIGHTS MONSTERS (1997)

Despite largely being considered an X-Men character in his early years, when Deadpool landed his first ongoing series, writer Joe Kelly send him careering headlong into the rest of the Marvel Universe. Having just crossed paths with Alpha Flight's Sasquatch as well as the incredible Hulk, Deadpool's budding 'relationship' with Siryn of X-Force would come under threat with the arrival of one of Daredevil's femme fatales, the psychotic Typhoid Mary. Of course, it wouldn't be long before the Man Without Fear himself would also show up...

The Daredevil/Deadpool team-up annual would inspire Marvel to release a whole slew of team-up annuals the following year. The 1998 annuals were a bit hit or miss, but they were a great opportunity to see some team-ups between some characters you wouldn't normally see together.
Crossover: Aside from a team-up annual, Deadpool's flashback 'minus 1' issue also sits among this story arc.
