The old man called Logan (don't call him Wolverine) is a retired farmer in what's left of a Sacramento that's ruled by the Hulk and his inbred family. When he can't pay rent to the Green Goliath, the pacifist Logan allows the Banner kids to beat him to a pulp to save the lives of his own family. Desperate to resolve the situation peacefully, Logan agrees to buddy up with the blind Clint Barton (the former-member of the Avengers once known as Hawkeye) across Amerika to deliver a dubious package to the East Coast. The duo should be there and back in their rejigged Spider-Mobile before the Hulk's kids come looking for the rent again...
Wolverine #67

Logan allows the Riders to beat him, leaving Hawkeye to put arrows through their heads. In Nevada, Hawkeye's ex-wife, Tonya Barton, reveals their daughter has become the new Spider-Woman. But she and her team have been captured by the Kingpin...
Wolverine #68
The Kingpin feeds the new Daredevil and Punisher to some Savage Land dinosaurs and decides on a worse fate for Spider-Woman. The Spider-Mobile crashes through the Kingpin's building and Hawkeye kills his men and frees his daughter. She rips Kingpin's head clean off, declaring herself the new Kingpin! And Hawkeye's next on her hitlist...
Wolverine #69
Logan rescues Hawkeye and the duo narrowly escape Spider-Woman's new army when they're sucked into the Earth by Moloids. Her men are eaten while our heroes escape to the surface in the Spider-Mobile. Later, Logan loses his temper bar and decides it's time to tell Hawkeye exactly what the bad guys did to end his career as Wolverine...
Wolverine #70
Fifty years ago, the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning came under assault from an army of villains. When he realised his fellow X-Men weren't coming to bail him out, Mysterio revealed he'd cast an illusion over the X-Men yo disguise them as villains. Having murdered his friends, the distraught Wolverine wandered for months and tried to decapitate himself with a passing train. From that moment on, Wolverine was dead.
Wolverine #71
Emma Frost and Black Bolt save Hawkeye and Logan from a T-Rex controlled by the Venom symbiote, then the duo arrive in Washington - now under the control of the Red Skull. Instead, Logan is shot numerous times and Hawkeye takes a bullet through the head...

Sorry it's late, Winch, but CONGRATULATIONS ON 500 POSTS!!
ReplyDelete....And I've enjoyed 'em ALL!!
Here's to the next? ( Can't be bothered counting all the grey ones!!)
:-)
Cheers, JP! Got three more posts to go, thenI'm taking a short break with this blog so i can prepare for the next assault (and hopefully get some other projects done, too!). I'll still sporadically update the sub-blogs, but time's not on my side these days. Thanks for your dedication to this as a regular reader. Your encouragement is appreciated!
DeleteTake all the time in the world, mate!
DeleteI KNOW what an enormous undertaking you have taken on!
Top marks for getting this far!!
;-)
Mighty kind of you, JP! Cheers for sticking with it!
DeleteFor some reason, JP, it's not loading or letting me rely to the comments you left on the index page. But... in answer to your question...! The crossover I'd previous missed was "To Save a Howler" on the 1968 page. I've also just added 1970 and will, eventually, overtake the current (Almost) Complete Marvel Crossover Guide in terms of listed chronological crossovers. I hope to come back to this one day to finish Secret Invasion and continue with Dark Reign, but adulthood keeps screwing me over!
DeleteI know what you mean, Winch, I have had to abandon some projects myself too!
DeleteAnyway, thanks for that and I'm following new blog as well!
Take care, mate!
:-)
Thanks for hangin' in, JP! I've got plans to update the 'How Did We Get to the Marvel Crossovers' blog soon. Some background reading from some of the bigger crossovers from the '90s to get those suckers out the way!
